WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) responded to President Joe Biden's State of the Union address, expressing disappointment in the President's portrayal of the country's current state.

"Our country is facing crisis after crisis, and it is disappointing to see President Biden continue to pretend that the state of our union is strong," Senator Lummis stated. She highlighted the impact of inflation on the people of Wyoming, noting that they are paying significantly more for basic goods and services due to the administration's spending policies.

Lummis emphasized the need for fiscal responsibility, stating, "It is past time we cut our country’s spending and get our fiscal house in order." She also raised concerns about the situation at the southwest border, warning about the influx of dangerous drugs and criminals into communities across the nation.

Addressing the border crisis, Lummis stated, "President Biden could fix this crisis tomorrow if he truly wanted to." She expressed hope that the President would focus on presenting solutions to the nation's challenges rather than shifting blame to congressional Republicans.

In her statement following the State of the Union address, Senator Lummis urged for proactive measures to address the pressing issues facing the country, emphasizing the importance of effective governance and accountability.
