U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming has publicly expressed her support for Kash Patel, President Donald Trump’s nominee for FBI Director. After a meeting with Patel, Lummis shared her thoughts on his qualifications and potential impact on the agency.

Lummis stated, “Kash Patel is an accomplished lawyer, seasoned former public defender and trusted advisor who has dedicated his career to exposing corruption and standing up for the American people.” She believes that under Patel’s leadership, the FBI will address what she describes as America’s crime epidemic and tackle issues related to migrant gangs.

She also highlighted President Trump’s goal to eliminate corruption within the FBI. According to Lummis, “President Trump has made it his mission to stamp out corruption within the FBI, and Kash is a great choice to restore the FBI to its intended mission of protecting the American people rather than targeting political opponents.”

Patel’s nomination comes at a time when discussions about law enforcement priorities and practices are prominent in political discourse.
