U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming has expressed her approval following the passage of the Laken Riley Act. In a statement, she emphasized the significance of this legislation in relation to former President Trump’s commitment to enhancing security at the Southern border.

“After President Trump promised in his inaugural address to restore law and order at our Southern border, it is appropriate that the Laken Riley Act is the first bill heading to the president’s desk to be signed into law,” said Lummis.

Senator Lummis highlighted that while this act cannot reverse past tragedies, it aims to prevent future ones. “This legislation sadly cannot bring Laken Riley back, but it will save other Americans and their families from enduring this heartbreaking and preventable tragedy,” she added.
