Rep. Harriet Hageman, who has represented Wyoming’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, recently shared a series of statements on social media regarding developments at the Ramaco Brook Mine and their implications for American energy independence and national security.
On July 9, 2025, Hageman described the discovery at the Ramaco Brook Mine as significant for U.S. energy policy: “The discovery at the Ramaco Brook Mine is a game changer for American energy independence and national security. We should not rely on China when we have what we need right here at home.”
Two days later, on July 11, 2025, she highlighted progress in domestic energy initiatives: “Today, marks a huge step in our efforts to unleash American energy. With Wyoming at the forefront, this project helps secure our supply chains, power innovation, and strengthen national defense.”
Later that day, Hageman attended an event marking another milestone for the project: “I was proud to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Brook Mine Rare Earth Project with Ramaco. This historic milestone marks a major step in securing American energy independence and unlocking Wyoming’s vast mineral potential. Let’s keep powering the future right here at”
Harriet Hageman was born in Fort Laramie, Wyoming in 1962 and currently resides in Cheyenne. She earned both her BS and JD from the University of Wyoming in 1989.
