Senator Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming recently delivered speeches to both the Wyoming House of Representatives and the Wyoming Senate. Her remarks centered on the developments in Washington under President Trump’s administration, highlighting policy changes that could benefit Wyoming and acknowledging efforts by DOGE and Elon Musk to address governmental inefficiencies.

Lummis expressed her honor in serving Wyoming at the federal level, stating, “Thank you for allowing me to serve you, and this state, in the United States Senate. It’s an absolute new day in Washington.”

She noted significant executive actions taken by President Trump, mentioning a specific order reversing resource management plans. Lummis emphasized the importance of energy resources, particularly hydrocarbons, stating that “Artificial intelligence is going to double the demand we have now for energy.” She added that her office is collaborating with AI companies to leverage Wyoming’s energy resources.

Lummis also mentioned inviting three cabinet members to visit Wyoming: EPA Director Lee Zeldin, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, and RFK Jr., who she hopes will participate in a healthcare roundtable. She highlighted concerns about electric vehicles not contributing fuel taxes to the Highway Trust Fund.

Reflecting on her experiences in Washington, Lummis described witnessing President Trump sign an executive order related to women’s sports as part of a celebratory event at the White House. She praised Elon Musk’s initiatives against wasteful government spending: “He is ferreting our true waste, fraud, and abuse.”

Concluding her remarks with gratitude for addressing the legislative bodies in Wyoming, she stated: “Mr. President – thank you for the privilege of the floor.”
