This week, Senator Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming delivered remarks on the Senate floor to commemorate the first 100 days of President Trump’s return to office. She characterized these days as “transformational,” attributing to them significant policy shifts in the United States.

In her speech, Senator Lummis praised a number of initiatives undertaken by the Trump administration. These include efforts to enhance American energy independence, exemplified by an executive order lifting previous restrictions on coal production, which Lummis argues creates economic opportunities in energy states like Wyoming. She stated that the administration is committed to fostering blue-collar jobs and providing cheaper energy to American families.

The senator also spoke on the administration’s stance on competitive sports, highlighting an executive order that mandates the recognition of biological sex in athletic competitions. “One of the administration’s first major actions was signing an executive order directing federal agencies to recognize biological sex in athletic competition,” she quoted. This, according to Lummis, addresses concerns about fairness in women’s sports.

Another focal point of her remarks was President Trump’s approach to border security. “Where the Biden administration created chaos, President Trump, has restored order,” Lummis stated, citing actions such as the signing of the Laken Riley Act and reinstating certain immigration enforcement measures. She underscored the reduction in border encounters as evidence of the administration’s effectiveness in this area.

Additionally, Lummis highlighted measures to cut wasteful spending and tackle the national debt. She expressed strong support for the creation of the Department of Government Efficiency, led by Elon Musk, aimed at identifying government waste and abuse.

She also addressed progress on digital assets and cryptocurrency, indicating the Trump administration’s position as pro-digital asset. The senator emphasized initiatives such as the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, which are intended to secure America’s leadership in financial innovation.

Lummis concluded by mentioning ongoing confirmations of President Trump’s nominees and criticized proposed tax policies that could impact Wyoming families and businesses. She expressed optimism for continued achievements in the coming months, attributing significant early progress to the Trump administration’s policies.
