Citizens Bond Committee Presents $213.3 Million in Proposed Projects to City Council for 2023 Bond Program
The Citizens Bond Committee presented a list of proposed projects, including a new public aquatic facility, a new fire station and $42 million in residential street rebuilds, for the City Council to consider in a potential bond package totaling $213.3 million next year. City Council is expected to begin reviewing and refining the list of proposed projects in January and February for a potential election in May. View the full list of recommendations.
Arlington's Leaf Recycling Program Runs Through Jan. 16, 2023
We might all be thinking about the holidays, but don't forget it's still Fall and the leaves are starting to change colors. Take advantage of the annual free leaf recycling program through Jan. 16. Help reduce landfill waste by collecting and bagging your leaves. All of the collected leaves will be mulched, and will be free to Arlington residents in the spring (based on availability). Residents Encouraged to Sign Up for Alerts Through City of Arlington's CodeRED Emergency Notification System
Want to receive notifications from the City of Arlington about service interruptions or public emergencies? Sign up for the CodeRED community notification system, a web-based community notification system that provides local governments the security to send information and urgent notifications to residents and businesses over phone, text message and email. This system provides quick communication with thousands of residents within minutes. This is a free service to all City of Arlington residents and businesses.
The City can activate the notification system for issues such as temporary boil water notices, garbage and recycling service updates, natural gas leaks, severe weather alerts or other incidents with broad public impact. To sign up to receive free notifications from the City’s community notification system, text ARLINGTON to 99411.
Know Before You Go: The Lights at Interlochen 2022
The Lights at Interlochen, one of the largest and longest running holiday traditions in North Texas, is back for the 2022 season! Each year, more than 200 homeowners in this northwest Arlington neighborhood celebrate the season by decorating their homes with festive lights and holiday-themed displays. Admission is free. The public is invited to drive through the neighborhood from 6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. each night, December 16 – 25, 2022.The Arlington Police Department will set up traffic control posts in the area to help facilitate safe travel. All motorists MUST enter Interlochen from Westwood Drive at Randol Mill Road. There will be signs throughout the neighborhood directing traffic along the trail.
