Senator Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming has expressed her support for President Trump’s recent executive order aimed at reforming wildfire management. The order, titled “Empower Commonsense Wildfire Prevention and Response,” seeks to address the challenges posed by wildfires.

In her statement, Lummis emphasized the impact of wildfires on Wyoming communities. “Wyoming families know the devastating reality of wildfires – they’ve destroyed our ranches, threatened our communities, and burned through the landscapes we call home,” she stated. She further noted that the executive order represents a significant change in forest management practices by removing regulatory barriers, enhancing local authority, and incorporating advanced technologies like artificial intelligence to improve firefighting efforts.

Lummis highlighted the importance of removing bureaucratic obstacles that can delay fire response efforts and exacerbate wildfire disasters.

The executive order aims to empower state and local leaders with more effective tools to combat wildfires.
