The University of Wyoming and the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network announced on May 5 that they will host a workshop for aspiring small business owners in Douglas on May 12. The event, titled “Start Your Own Business – Douglas,” is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Eastern Wyoming College’s Douglas campus.
The workshop aims to provide guidance for individuals considering starting their own businesses. Organizers say the session will help participants understand both the challenges and requirements involved in launching a new venture.
Steen Stovall, regional director for the Wyoming SBDC Network covering Converse, Natrona, Niobrara, and Platte counties, will lead the discussion. Stovall plans to address fundamental aspects of starting a business, including evaluating personal readiness, developing strategies for reaching customers, reviewing financing options, and identifying available resources. Registration for the event is free.
According to the announcement, “The Wyoming SBDC Network offers business expertise to help Wyoming residents think about, launch, grow, reinvent or exit their business.” The network is hosted by the University of Wyoming with support from state funds provided by the Wyoming Business Council and additional funding through an agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Stovall brings over 25 years of experience in small business and workforce development sectors. He has co-founded companies across several industries such as oil, gas, retail and construction and also has extensive instructional experience.
