Albany, NY - To celebrate the steady growth of cycling in the City – and the first spring that the Albany Skyway is open – the City of Albany is sponsoring a 2-mile Bike to Work Day Ride from the USS Slater, North along the Hudson River, over the Skyway, with a press conference at Wallenberg Park, followed by complementary coffee and pastries at Stacks Espresso Bar.
Who: Mayor Sheehan, other local elected officials, Arbor Hill residents, cyclists, APD police officers, and bike/ped advocates
What: The City of Albany is holding a Bike to Work Day Over-the-Skyway Ride from the USS Slater parking lot along the Hudson River, over the Skyway, to a short press conference at Wallenberg Park; final stop is Stacks on Broadway for a complementary cup of coffee and Danish
When: The ride begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, at the parking lot of the USS Slater; the press conference will be held at 8:15 a.m. at Wallenberg Park; Stacks after the Press Conference
Where: The Bike to Work Day ride will begin at the parking lot of the USS Slater (141 Broadway); cyclists will ride North along the Hudson River, and then over the Skyway to Wallenberg Park (at the corner of N. Pearl St. and Clinton Ave. next to the Olde English Downtown Dog Park and kitty-corner to the Palace Theatre); afterwards, it’s on to Stacks (477 Broadway) for a complementary cup of coffee and Danish
