Mayor Kathy Sheehan and the City of Albany Department of Neighborhood and Community Services will be hosting an open house job fair for 18 open positions available within the Department on Monday, December 5, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, 24 Eagle Street, Albany.

Applicants will have an opportunity to apply for positions on-site as well as speak with hiring managers. Participants should bring copies of their resume and references if available. Please note that you will not need a resume to apply via jobs.albanyny.gov and computers will be available on-site for the application process.

Interested parties are encouraged to attend the open house where they will be able to watch an overview of the Department of Neighborhood and Community Services and review job descriptions for open positions within the Neighborhood Services Department, Albany Community Development Agency and the Planning and Development Department. Representatives from these departments as well as Buildings and Regulatory Compliance and Human Resources will be available to answer any questions and discuss the application process.

Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan said, “We have heard the calls for more robust and immersive constituent services, and that is why I created the Department of Neighborhood & Community Services. 200 Henry Johnson Boulevard will now be known as The Neighborhood Center where we will provide the public with seamless access to City services and information while maintaining the highest levels of customer service. A true ‘one stop shop,’ the Department will partner with residents, community groups, and local businesses to help enhance our vibrant neighborhoods and reflect the City’s diverse population through a neighborhood-focused approach to planning, community development, and code enforcement.”

200 Henry Johnson Boulevard already houses the Buildings and Regulatory Compliance Department, Albany Community Development Agency and the Planning and Development Department. Beginning January 3, 2023, the newly developed Neighborhood Services Department will also be located at 200 Henry Johnson Blvd. which will now be known as The Neighborhood Center. The mission of this new departmental configuration is to improve residents’ quality of life, neighborhood by neighborhood.
