U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) has joined Senator JD Vance (R-OH) in introducing legislation aimed at eliminating diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs within the federal government. The proposed bill seeks to safeguard Wyoming taxpayers' money from what the senators describe as "woke spending priorities."
"DEI programs are not about promoting fairness; they are about exacerbating discourse and worsening racial biases, and there is no place for these divisive initiatives within the federal government," said Lummis. "Wyoming’s tax dollars should not be funding this harmful ideology, and I am partnering with Senator Vance to put an end to this administration’s unnecessary political pandering."
The Dismantle DEI Act aims to eliminate DEI programs in the federal government and rescind President Biden’s executive orders related to DEI. The bill includes measures such as outlawing mandatory employee DEI pledges, ending DEI training sessions, and preventing educational accreditation agencies from using their position to push DEI policies in educational institutions.
